Orthopedic doctors treat injuries and health conditions affecting muscles and joints. Orthopedic sports medicine doctors use non-surgical methods to treat conditions of the spine, hip, shoulder, knee, foot and ankle. If these methods are not successful, surgery may be needed.
Our network of orthopedic doctors perform different types of surgery. Day surgery allows you to have your surgery and return home, all in one day. Of, you may have surgery that requires a hospital stay. You may go home after one night or you may stay several nights until you are feeling better.
If you have surgery at an MSM-affiliated surgery center and require an overnight stay, MSM doctors will see you at Minneapolis-based University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview or Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Follow-up appointments are scheduled with your doctor.
