Orthopaedic doctors are trained to treat injuries and health conditions that affect muscles, bones and joints. Orthopaedic sports medicine doctors see athletes and use non-surgical methods to treat spine, hip, shoulder, elbow, hand, knee and foot injuries, performing surgery when necessary. They work closely with other sports medicine specialists that include primary care sports medicine doctors, physical therapists and athletic trainers to return people to an active lifestyle and sport as quickly and as safely as possible.
Our network of orthopedic doctors see active people and athletes at medical clinics throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Many serve as team doctors or medical consultants for local high schools, college or professional teams that
include the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Lynx, Minnesota Wild, University of Minnesota athletic programs, the Minnesota State High School League, Augsburg College, Macalester College, and Hamline and St. Thomas universities.
